Did you know that newborn babies will need about 10-15 diaper changes each day?If you are a new parent,it certainly might be a little overwelming. However,be assured that you’ll get the hang of it very soon!
There are a few diapering essentials that will make diaper changes so much easier for you.It all begins with a designated diapering station. Here are my favorite baby diapering essentials to make diaper changes quick and easy.
1.Dresser & Topper Set
When I design nurseries,I always go with a versatile dressser and a removable topper set.Not only will you get plenty of space to store baby’s clothes and knicknacks but you can simply remove the topper and continue using it for years to come.
A contoured design changing pad is essential for doing diaper duty.A pad that has a three sided enclosure as well as a safety belt will help prevent the baby from falling off the dresser.
3.Changing Pad Cover
You’ll need to get a soft and comfortable changing pad cover for baby to lay on.
4.Waterproof Changing Pad Liners
Place one of these waterproof changing pad liners over the changing pad cover to protect it from baby’s constant wetting.
You can never go wrong with having baskets or trays for storage and organization.Use a basket like this one to keep the diapers, creams etc on top of the dressser, so you have easy access.
No baby diapering station would be complete without the all important diapers.
7. Diaper Pail
Use a diaper pail to throw dirty diapers in and to lock ordors in, so you can maintain the freshness in your baby’s nursery and in your home.I love the Ubbi diaper pail because it does a really awesome job of preventing the ordor from escaping out.You also don’t have to use special liners with it,any standard trash bag will do.
One of the most important baby diapering essentials – Baby Wipes!
9.Diaper Rash Cream
Littles ones tend to get diaper rash from time to time so keep a cream on hand to use when you need it.The Acquafor Oilment has been my go to cream for years-I love how quickly it works to relieve baby’s diaper rash.
10.Health Care & Grooming Kit
I like to keep one of these grooming kits within easy reach when I am changing the baby’s diaper and dressing the baby. From nail clippers to a cradle cap comb and a thermometer-these kits have everything you might possibly need.
Its always nice to wipe your baby’s bottom with nice warm wipes rather than cold wipes and having the little one squirm. This Munchkin Warm Glow Wipe Warmer will give you warm wipes everytime as well as easy access to individual wipes.
Often times after you change the baby you end up breastfeeding or bottlefeeding the little one in the nursery.Keep a hand sanitizer close by to clean your hands after each and every diaper change.I am a big fan of the Babyganics Alcohol Free Foaming Sanitizer. Its kills 99% of the bacteria, its gentle on the hands and it also does not contain harmful chemicals.
